Dr Matute is an energetic and detail-oriented dental professional, constantly in pursuit of methods and techniques to improve the efficiency and quality of delivering dental care to my patients. 
He is a dedicated husband to my lovely wife, and new father to a lively and rambunctious baby boy! 
When he is not involved in patient care, he loves to travel and learn about difference cultures — through their respective cuisines.  
He also enjoy skiing, biking, and hiking around western MA. 
His family and him love going to the beach and trying out new water sports!

Volunteer Dentist – Medical and Dental Outreach Programs

These outreach programs were run throughout the year in rural areas of the Philippines. As a dental resident, I participated in these events under the supervision of a faculty dentist. I performed oral hygiene education and dental extractions during these missions.

Coordinating Dentist – Healthy Smiles Program

The Healthy Smiles Program is an annual event put on in a rural area of western Massachusetts called Athol (at the Athol Elks Lodge). The purpose of this event is to educate the general public on the importance of optimal oral health.

This annual lecture that I put forth was a power point presentation given to my medical colleagues at the Hampden County Correctional Center and the Western Massachusetts Regional Women’s Correctional Center, on the proper way to handle inmates and their dental needs in a penitentiary setting.

This lecture was given to the predoctoral students at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. I gave them a background on correctional dental health care, and spoke about my experiences treating this unique patient population.

In this position, I was responsible for meeting with the committee regularly and discussing/implementing new ideas and activities for new dental school graduates. The purpose of the committee was to assist new dentists into a smooth transition from school to the workforce.
